Name: Consultation Group for Clinical Work with Transgender Clients

 

Descriptions:

The NASW-Michigan Consultation Group for Clinical Work with Transgender Clients aims to bring together social workers of all experience levels who are currently working with members of the transgender community. The group is structured in a peer consultation format, allowing attendees to explore cases and questions that have come up in practice.

 

Potential conversation topics include:

  • World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care
  • Letter writing and documentation
  • Informed consent
  • Cultural humility
  • Educational/training opportunities
  • Ethical and legal concerns
  • Resources for clients and their therapists

Meeting Time: Third Friday of every month from 3:30pm – 5:00pm

 

Meeting Location: In-person at the NASW-Michigan Office (741 N Cedar St, Lansing, MI) or via conference call

 

Participation: The group is open to NASW members only
