Michigan Social Workers: Let’s Put Real Salary Data Behind Our Advocacy

We need your voice to create change around social work compensation in Michigan! We're building a first-of-its-kind public dataset on what social workers and human service professionals are actually earning across Michigan. This data will be used to:
  • Support advocacy efforts for better pay in our field
  •  Provide concrete evidence for policy discussions about workforce compensation
  • Give you and your colleagues real data to use in salary negotiations and career decisions
  • Shine a light on pay disparities across different settings and roles
The data will be publicly accessible through a dashboard, meaning you'll be able to see how compensation compares across the profession – information that's often hard to come by but critical for advocating for yourself and the profession.
What we're asking: Take 10-15 minutes to complete an anonymous survey about your education, role, employment setting, and compensation. Your individual responses are completely confidential and will only be reported in aggregate.
This research is a partnership between Ferris State University and NASW-Michigan and has been reviewed and approved through the IRB Accepted Protocol #IRB-FY24-25-121 to protect your privacy and ensure ethical research practices.
Thank you for contributing to this important work. Together, we can build the evidence base our profession needs to advocate for the compensation we deserve.
