LANSING, MI — The National Association of Social Workers – Michigan Chapter (NASW-Michigan) is proud to recognize the 2026 Social Work Students of the Year (SOTY), honoring outstanding Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) students from accredited programs across the state.

Each year, one BSW and one MSW student from every accredited social work program in Michigan is nominated for this distinction. The award recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and contribute to a positive image of the social work profession through their leadership, service, and commitment to the field.

“These students represent the future of social work in Michigan,” said Kaelyn Lewis, NASW-Michigan Director of Membership & Communications. “Their dedication to academic excellence and their passion for advancing the profession reflect the core values of social work and the impact it has on communities across our state.”

The 2026 honorees will be formally recognized at the Social Work Student of the Year & Emerging Social Work Leader Awards Ceremony on April 17, 2026, in Lansing, Michigan.

NASW-Michigan proudly celebrates the accomplishments of these students and their contributions to strengthening the profession and improving the well-being of individuals, families, and communities throughout Michigan.
