The nomination period for the 2026 NASW-Michigan Chapter Board of Directors is officially open — and this moment in our profession and our communities calls for courageous, values-driven leadership.

Across Michigan, social workers are navigating complex political shifts, workforce challenges, attacks on vulnerable communities, and rapidly evolving practice environments. Now more than ever, we need leaders who are grounded in our Code of Ethics, committed to advocacy, and ready to help shape the future of our profession.

Serving on the NASW-Michigan Board is more than a volunteer role — it is an opportunity to lead in a time when social work voices must be strong, visible, and united.

Nominations are being accepted through Sunday, April 5, 2026.

Our Chapter is filled with extraordinary social workers from every corner of the state — representing diverse roles, lived experiences, identities, and practice settings. What unites us is our shared commitment to social work values and to advancing justice in Michigan. Our Board ensures that the voices of our members inform statewide strategy, advocacy priorities, and Chapter initiatives.
