How M-PACE chooses endorsements M-PACE uses a nonpartisan review process that considers: a candidate’s questionnaire answers, their public record, their positions on critical NASW policy areas (including behavioral health access, Medicaid/Medicare policy, child & family supports, and workforce protections), leadership on equity and social justice issues, and the candidate’s likelihood of advancing NASW priorities if elected. Endorsements are approved by the M-PACE committee following review and, when appropriate, candidate interviews. What an endorsement means — and doesn’t mean An M-PACE endorsement indicates that the committee believes the candidate will advance policies aligned with NASW values. Endorsement may include public support, volunteer mobilization, and (when appropriate) M-PACE financial contributions. It does not imply NASW-Michigan endorsement of every campaign decision or platform detail, nor does it replace individual members’ right to vote or support any candidate of their choosing.
