The newly elected members will begin their terms on July 1, 2025. Thank you to each of the individuals who ran in this year’s elections. At a time with so much change happening within the social work profession and such pressure in our political and international landscapes, it was incredibly inspiring to see so many of our incredible Michigan social workers stepping forward to serve. The NASW-MI Board of Directors oversees chapter programming, develops local and statewide initiatives, and informs the overall direction of the chapter and, in turn, the broader future of social work in Michigan. The board is composed of 19 members who are elected by the chapter membership. All board members serve three-year terms, except for the Member-At-Large and BSW and MSW student representatives, who hold one-year terms. The Delegate Assembly is NASW’s representative, decision-making body through which NASW members set some organizational policy, establish Program Priority Goals, and develop a collective stance on public and professional issues. Delegates will have the opportunity to participate in setting the Association’s FY 2028-2030 program priority goals and reviewing changes to the NASW Code of Ethics and the Association’s public and professional policy statements. For more information about the Board of Directors, please visit the NASW-MI website.
