*Candidates with a BSW or MSW degree **"M-PACE endorses candidates on the basis of their alignment with social work values in their policies and conduct. Regrettably, one candidate we previously endorsed, Maurice Imhoff, has been reported in various news outlets, via credible sources, as having acted in ways that violate those values. We have removed our endorsement since learning of the allegations as of October 5, 2022. Candidates endorsed that did move past the primary election:
Proposal Endorsements Petitions to support: - Proposal 2: Promote the Vote - Proposal 2 is a constitutional amendment to put key voting rights directly in the Michigan Constitution. It will enhance the fairness and integrity of our elections and protect the ability of every eligible Michigan voter to be heard.
- Proposal 3: Reproductive Freedom For All - Proposal 3 will affirm that every person has the fundamental right to reproductive freedom, which involves the right to make and carry out decisions without political interference about all matters relating to pregnancy, including birth control, abortion, prenatal care, and childbirth. Specifically, this measure will ensure that all Michiganders have the right to safe and respectful care during birthing, everyone has the right to use temporary or permanent birth control, everyone has the right to continue or end a pregnancy pre-viability, and no one can be punished for having a miscarriage, stillbirth, or abortion.

“Social workers should engage in social and political action that seeks to ensure that all people have equal access to the resources, employment, services, and opportunities they require to meet their basic human needs and to develop fully. Social workers should be aware of the impact of the political arena on practice and should advocate for changes in policy and legislation to improve social conditions in order to meet basic human needs and promote social justice” (NASW Code of Ethics, 6.04)
PACE: Building Political Power for Social WorkersPolitical Action for Candidate Election (PACE) is the political action arm of the National Association of Social Workers. As a political action committee, PACE endorses and financially contributes to candidates from any party who support NASW's policy agenda. The national PACE Board of Trustees * endorses (criteria*) and contributes to federal candidates running for U.S. House and Senate seats; state chapter PACE units decide on local and state races.
PACE- Mobilizes thousands of social workers to vote by informing NASW members of which candidates NASW-PACE endorsed in each election.
- Compiles valuable facts such as voting records of U.S. Senators and Representatives and information on more than 150 social workers elected to federal, state, and local office.
