NASW-Michigan Condemns SCOTUS Ruling on Affirmative Action in College Admissions

• We must take action to increase representation of marginalized communities in our professional work.
• Racial diversity strengthens our organization and the work we do on behalf of those we serve.
• Our work must be rooted in addressing structural racism and its impact on us and those we serve.
• Failure to address policies and procedures that continue to drive racial inequities is a form of racism.

NASW CEO Anthony Estreet says the association is disappointed in the SCOTUS affirmative action ruling. “Our nation is becoming more diverse and it is important our higher education system use Affirmative Action to ensure our colleges reflect that,” he said.
