NOTICE: Helpful Information for Renewing your Social Worker License or Registration
Dear Licensee:
To assist with the renewal process and to avoid issues when registering an account with our new licensing platform, MiPLUS,
below is important information to reference when you go to renew your license.

Prior to renewing your license, you must first register an individual account in the new MiPLUS licensing system. Even if you have renewed online in previous years using our old system you must register an account in MiPLUS first. Click

for printable instructions on how to register an account. When entering your contact information be sure to enter your name exactly as it appears on your current license.

Once your account has been registered you can proceed with renewing your license. Click HERE
for printable instructions on how to renew your license with MiPLUS. If once you register an account and login and your license does not show up for renewal do not apply for a new license. Please contact the Department so we can link your
account to your license.

Licenses and Registrations not renewed by May 03, 2022 will still have the opportunity to renew during the late renewal period which ends on July 05, 2022.

PLEASE NOTE: Licensees and registrants renewing their license on or after June 22, 2022, will be required to complete Implicit Bias training that meets the standards in
Administrative Rule 338.7004
, prior to renewing your license. You will be required to complete a minimum of 1 hour of implicit bias training for each year of your license cycle.

This is an important notice that all renewal requirements, including continuing education (CE), are in affect. Prior to renewing your license, please be sure to have completed the required CE for the previous license cycle. You should make every
effort to meet any necessary CE requirements.

PLEASE NOTE: Individuals who hold a Limited Bachelor’s Social Worker license (LLBSW), Limited Master’s Social Worker license (LLMSW), Limited Social Service Technician Registration (LSSTR) and Full Social Service Technician Registration (SSTR) are NOT required to complete 45 hours of continuing education. You are however, still required to complete human trafficking training prior to renewal of your license.

Licensees seeking renewal must have completed training in identifying victims of human trafficking that meets the standards in Administrative Rule 338.2929
prior to renewing your license.
