NASW Michigan Program Manager Position 


To help NASW-Michigan  achieve its largest goals with expanding the Behavioral Health Workforce in Michigan, we need a strong program manager on our team. 


The Michigan Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) has over 5,000 members who live and work in the State of Michigan. NASW-Michigan helps shape legislation that affects the health, welfare and education of all people. The Chapter works with several allied organizations to promote causes and services that improve society. 


The mission of NASW-Michigan is to support, promote and advocate for professional social work practice, practitioners and the social work profession, to improve the quality of life for the people of Michigan.


We’re currently searching for an experienced program manager dedicated to the core values and ethics of the social work profession. This individual will need a deep understanding of how social work addresses populations with unmet behavioral health challenges. 


NASW-Michigan has a strong tradition of success and leadership. The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of integrated-behavioral health, time management, collaboration, and possesses organizational skills. In addition we seek an individual with a sharp ability to strategize and implement high-level program initiatives. As a leader, you will have a strong talent for project coordination and delegation. Ultimately, you are motivated by the desire to optimize productivity and nurture program success from inception to completion.

Program Manager Essential Functions:

  • Daily management and operations of behavioral health training(s). 

  • Coordinate meetings with subject matter  experts and manage the development of content produced.

  • Actively participates in relevant meetings with NASW-Michigan staff

  • Assure marketing and materials are delivered to state-wide audience in a timely manner

  • Implement processes for trainings that are synchronous and asynchronous

  •  Utilize webcast technology platforms, social media platforms, and Microsoft Office Products.

  • Assure program goals are met

  • Produce project reports as needed and in a timely manner

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Skills and Experience :

  • Strong preference for understanding mental health, substance use disorders, and health care systems on a local and state level

  • Comfortable working with executive-level leaders

  • Proficient with webcast technology platforms, social media platforms, Google Suite and Microsoft Office Products.

  • Able to meet short deadlines and operate in a face-paced environment.

  • Proven experience in contract/grant management and implementation of behavioral health programming.

  • Exceptional project management, communication, written, verbal and organizational skills. 

  • A Master’s degree in social work, public health, psychology or other related field of study.

  • Contract/grant management and Behavioral health programming: 3 years 


Position is a Part-time 6 month contractual position beginning in April

Pay Range: $30-$35 an hour


Position is temporarily remote due to COVID-19
