Update from LARA and the Michigan Board of Social Work regarding the ASWB Exam

NASW-Michigan has confirmed with LARA and the Michigan Board of Social Work when in 2021 Michigan will begin following ASWB's new policy (2.1) that changes the eligibility for limited licensees to take their exams.

From Brian Philson, Chair of the Michigan Board of Social Work. "Licensing made the determination to wait unit June 30, 2021 to implement ASWB policy 2.1."

What this means: Any limited licensed Michigan social worker has until June 30, 2021 to sit and pass the ASWB exam without having to have their work and supervision hours complete.

After that date, LARA will need to have received the supervision verification form(s) which confirm that all work hours have been finished, before authorizing individual permission to sit for an exam.
