Self-care has always been a critical piece of social work practice. The current pandemic has changed our practices, our social interactions, and has interrupted many of the self-care routines that many of us had developed for ourselves. NASW-Michigan invites you to relax with us for our new bi-monthly self-care series happening the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, starting June 10, from 12-12:30pm.
You can participate two ways:
Activities will range from yoga, to meditation, to art, to other body-mind practices.
June 10th and 24th Programs
Yoga is an ancient practice known to help reduce stress and anxiety, improve self regulation skills, as well as improve physical well- being. Practicing Yoga can serve as an excellent self-care tool for social workers. Take a mid-day break to connect with your body and give yourself some much needed self-care!
These sessions will lead participants in gentle standing and seated yoga (that can easily be done in a chair). No mat is required and all movements will be beginner-friendly. Meditation and breathwork activities will also be included.
