NASW-Michigan is proud to announce our partnership with the Michigan Mental Health Counselors Association (MMHCA) and MDHHS to provide additional mental health services in the form of a referral system asan effort toclose the accessibility gap during COVID-19 and beyond.
At this time, we are looking for social workers who are interested in providing pro-bono telehealth therapy services to their fellow Michiganders! If you are interested, please complete the survey which will remain open for the foreseeable future to collect information on individuals interested in serving their communities!
Interested clinicans will serve as a second tier of telehelath supportfor the Warmline, Crisis Counseling Program and CMH Crisis Hotlines. The second tier of telehealth support will assist those who need longer-term services and do not qualify for CMH Services.
The Warmlines are an alternative to traditional psychiatric crisishotlines and are used to avoid extreme emotional distress that can lead to hospitalization or other severe outcomes that are preventable with early intervention of peer support. Warmlines alleviate the burden on crisis responders by offering a solution for non-crisis callers.
The Warmline operates seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. at 888-PEER-753 (888-733-7753).Individuals in crisis, including those considering suicide, are urged to contact the Disaster Distress Helpline 24/7 at 800-985-5990 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 24/7 at 800-273-8255.
