April 15-16, 2021
with a preconference event Wednesday, April 14, 2021
Kellogg Center. East Lansing, Michigan
The National Association of Social Workers – Michigan Chapter is requesting proposals from social workers and other professionals to present a continuing education workshop at the 2021 Annual Conference. This conference will take place on April 15-16, 2021 at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing, Michigan (with a preconference event on the evening of April 14). Preference will be given to proposals that feature best practices, social work ethics, pain management, and human trafficking.
Who Should Submit a Proposal?
You! Your colleagues! Your colleagues’ colleagues! Any professional with a level of social work understanding who would like an opportunity to share their knowledge with social workers from around the state of Michigan is a great candidate for this conference.
What Kind of Workshop Can I Give?
The possibilities are endless! Past workshops have featured lectures, case presentations, audio/visual components, group discussion, and large group or small group activities and demonstrations. Presenters can choose between providing a 1.5 hour presentation or a 3 hour presentation, schedule permitting. Please be sure to indicate the length of program you prefer to provide when completing the RFP.
Presenter Benefits
In addition to the enjoyment of sharing knowledge with colleagues, presenters receive 3 CEs for each hour presented. Presenters are also offered complementary registration for the day they present and discounted rates if they wish to attend the rest of the conference. NASW-Michigan issues confirmations to all presenters for their records following the conference.

Important Dates for Presenters
May 1, 2020: Proposals due DEADLINE EXTENDED to May 31, 2020
- July 1, 2020: Presenters notified on committee decision
- March 19, 2021: Presentation materials due
- April 15-16, 2021 – NASW-Michigan Annual Conference. East Lansing, Michigan
