Registration for the 2017 book club is currently closed. Our next club will start in early 2018.
NASW-Michigan is excited to announce the formation of a Chapter Virtual Book Club, which will allow social workers to earn up to 18 CEs per year from the comfort of your own home. The book club will connect virtually through a LinkedIn group to discuss relevant books for social workers.
The book cub will give members the opportunity to:
Earn 3 CEUs for each book that they read and pass a short quiz with a score of 80% or more. The group will read six books per year so participants can earn up to 18 CEs per year.
Read interesting books related to social work practice, social justice, and community organizing
Connect with other social workers to grow their professional network and learn from their peers
Participate entirely online so the program can work with people's busy schedules
Hold themselves accountable to reading by being part of a cohort
Participation is only $49 per year for members and $69 per year for non-members. Registration will be only open January 13 – February 13, 2017.
The book club will be managed by PBC Guru. PBC Guru manages professional book clubs for companies and will be moderating the LinkedIn group for the chapter to help make this program a great experience for all participants. Hi All,
The next years book club is definitely still happening and we have a large group of social workers signed up so far. Recruitment is open until March 8, so at that time we will be sending out detailed information to all of the participants about getting started.
For the book club, it is not a pre-set list of books. Instead the group itself will choose the book every two months from four options. The first selection will be put out to the group after the March 8th start date. More details can be found at https://www.pbc.guru/nasw/mi/.

Hello...I have the same issue as Sue E. Pabst : I paid my account for 2018 and credit card was charged, but I have not received emails and I have not received book list. Yes. Its almost March 1st and I regret signing up for this. How do I obtain a refund? I'm now out $49 dollars, have no book list, and still the costs of all the books, if there is a list. Again, I would like to know how to obtain a refund. I cannot stop payment as it was already charged. Thank you for your assistance!
I've paid my money which was taken and did not receive an email. I would like this list of books as well. We are entering the third month of the year. Hmmm
