The 2016 Election is only a few months away and we need your help! We at NASW-Michigan are asking all our members who are able, to register to vote. If you’re already registered, now is the time to make sure you are registered at your current address (www.vote411.org). Our goal is to get 100% of all members registered by National Voter Registration Day, September 27, 2016. When NASW-Michigan asks elected officials to support our issues, having our members be registered voters makes our voice that much stronger.

In addition, we are encouraging ALL of our members and ALL social workers, including students to help register clients, community members, friends and family. To help you in this effort, NASW-Michigan is happy to announce that we are offering FREE voter registration packets. Each packet includes:

  • 25 blank voter registration forms
  • 25 “Let Me Vote” voting rights manuals from ACLU-Michigan
  • A pre-paid envelope to mail the completed forms to the county clerk
  • Instructions, tips, and deadlines

As an added incentive, the 5 people who register the most voters will win a NASW-Michigan t-shirt!!! Additionally, school of social work that registers the most voters will get special recognition at the annual Legislative Education and Advocacy Day (LEAD) in Lansing on October 25th, 2016.

Please forward this message to your network. To obtain a free voter registration packet, fill out this short request form and one will be mailed to you: https://goo.gl/forms/ZXNRfdZOaek8hHo43. The deadline for someone to get registered for the general election is October 11, 2016.

We appreciate your membership, advocacy, and for helping us bring citizens into the democratic process.
