Dr. Elizabeth Delores Dungee-Anderson Receives the NASW Virginia Lifetime Achievement Award
NASW Virginia Recognizes a Lifetime of Practice, Teaching, and Leadership
Richmond, VA – The National Association of Social Workers, Virginia Chapter has chosen Dr. Elizabeth Delores Dungee-Anderson, LCSW as the recipient for the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award for her commitment to the profession and practice of Social Work.
Dr. Dungee-Anderson is not only an integral part of the teaching community, but also within the practice and her specialty in Trauma. She is dedicated to her clients and students; researching, presenting, writing, and consulting for their advancement. Her commitment to the profession is also evidenced by her involvement in the NASW Virginia Chapter, CSWE and Phi Kappa Phi, to name a few. Dr. Dungee-Anderson currently serves as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for Wayne State University's School of Social Work.
As one of her former students stated, “She is a champion of the profession and exemplifies Social Work in many ways. She has given her life and lifetime of work to the profession and Virginia Social Workers. She is a respected local and national expert, who is often consulted by governmental and non-governmental agencies.”
Dr. Dungee-Anderson has been described by a colleague as having an excellent record of ongoing service and professional leadership at the national, regional and local levels of social work education and practice. She is a leader in every sense and the personification of the tenets of this award.
