If you're preparing to take your social work license exam, be sure to follow the Facebook page: LISW.net: Resources for the Social Work License Exam.
Practice questions like the one below are regularly posted, along with tips for answering the toughest questions on the exam.
A social worker in an outpatient counseling center has just completed a first meeting with a client who was transferred from a co-worker who is leaving the agency. The client, a woman who has recently separated from her husband, is chatting about how she spent her weekend, describing her activities in detail. The social worker understands that the client may be reacting to the change of counselors. To best address this, she should:
A) Ask the client to prioritize her goals
B) Carefully review the case record of the contacts with the previous worker
C) Suggest that it can be confusing to lose the familiar person and begin with a new counselor
D) Summarize and explain your understanding of her issues
