Trailblazer. Tireless advocate. There are very few words that can accurately describe the depth of Dr. Kathleen Coulborn Faller’s contributions to the field of child welfare. Her many accomplishments include:
Ten books and more than 90 journal articles on topics related to child welfare
Conducting more than 300 juried presentations at state, national and international conferences
Founded the Family Assessment Clinic in 1985, currently located at Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County (see history)
Extensive research and was the Principal Investigator on the University of Michigan site for the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute.
Numerous awards –
2012 - Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma (IVAT). William Friedrich Memorial Child Sexual Abuse Research, Assessment and/or Treatment Award.
2012 - Michigan Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers' Lifetime Achievement Award.
2011 - National Children's Advocacy Center's Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award.
2010 - University of Michigan School of Social Work Distinguished Faculty Award.
2008 - American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children's Outstanding Research Achievement Award.
1998 - American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children's Outstanding Service Award.
