Courageous Conversations Speaker Series featuring Gabriela Santiago-Romero

Presented by Wayne State University School of Social Work

The School of Social Work introduces Courageous Conversations Speaker Series, a new lecture series tackling the toughest social issues of our time, from civil rights and immigration to education equity and economic justice.

We’re honored to welcome social worker, community organizer and Detroit City Council Member for District 6, Gabriela Santiago-Romero, who will join us for a virtual conversation on immigration, solidarity and perseverance during the ongoing fight for justice and inclusion in our communities. Drawing on her personal experience as a grassroots organizer, Santiago-Romero will share insights on building coalitions, uplifting marginalized voices, immigrants' rights and fostering resilience in the face of systemic barriers.

2 Free CE credits will be offered for attending this event
