What to Know about Psychedelic-Assisted Treatment in TherapyFriday, November 14 | 12:00-1:30pm ET | 1.5 CEsVirtual - Live Synchronous
This training introduces social workers and mental health professionals to the emerging field of psychedelic-assisted therapy and its potential to support client healing and personal growth. Participants will gain foundational knowledge on various psychedelics—with a primary focus on ketamine—and learn key safety, legal, and ethical protocols for integrating this work into clinical practice. Objectives: 1. Participants will be introduced to psychedelics and how they can be used to enhance client’s healing and personal growth. Focus will be given primarily on ketamine, with an overview of various other psychedelics use and benefits. 2. Participants will learn safety and legal protocols regarding supporting client’s psychedelic use. 3. Participants will understand their role as a therapist in the process. 4. Participants will learn how to prepare, intake, and integrate a client’s experiences to benefit the client’s growth and healing. 5. Participants will learn how to market, document, and bill for these services. Presenters- Holly Sanders-Cobb, LMSW-Clinical, a clinical social worker, therapist, and owner of Healing Space Collective. Holly is also a clinical herbalist and loves mixing therapy with nervous system regulation and healing. Holly loves plants, being outside and reading. She lives in Plymouth, MI with her partner and children.
- Becca Gerlach, LMSW, CAADC, a clinical social worker and CAADC, therapist and owner of Being Human Group. Becca works primarily with teens and adults in various life transitions. She loves reading and traveling, and is currently working on making it to every national park in the US. Becca has worked hard on her own healing journey to be able to provide healing for others. She lives in Plymouth, MI with her partner and children.
