Reshape Stress into Neurographic Art

Join the Mind-Body in Social Work Interest Group for a special presentation on Neurographic Art, an experience that provides an opportunity for social workers to learn a meditative drawing technique that combines art and mindfulness to reduce burnout symptoms, compassion fatigue, and overcome limitations while promoting relaxation and reconnection with the authentic self, one's  passions and the helper within.  All introductory skills can be applicable as personal or professional practice. 

 

1.5 CEs | Free

 

Materials Needed:

  • Paper

  • Drawing/Coloring Mediums:

    • A black pen or Sharpie

    • Colored pencils, crayons, or paints (watercolor is best if available)

  • Extras for Enjoyment:

    • Your favorite beverage to sip on

    • Optional: Some nice background music to set the mood

 

Presented by Grace Rawlins, LMSW

 

Grace Rawlins, LMSW is a clinician and owner of a wellness center having practiced for over 14 years.  She specializes in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and integrative mental health approach. She as a developed mind-body practice using energy work and art in her therapeutic practice.

This group currently plans to meet quarterly (September, December March, and June) with a daytime and evening option each month: 2nd Monday @ noon ET or 2nd Thursday 7pm ET (9am AUST).

- Provide an international forum to network with social workers/clinicians who utilize mind-body approaches and techniques in service delivery
- Promote and support peers by sharing ideas, resources, expertise and encouragement
- Promote regular mind-body self-care routines to cope with occupational stress
