Certificate in Core Supervision (10 CEs) Cohort is Full - Registration is Closed - Next Cohort starts July 1
Cohort runs from April 22, 2022 - May 7, 2022 (6 hours of self-paced learning, with a live 4 hour virtual session on Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 9am-1pm) With over 6,500 students currently enrolled in Michigan Schools of Social Work, the demand for social work supervision has increased tremendously over the last decade. In order to meet this demand NASW-Michigan has developed a comprehensive, ethically-based training that will prepare you to step into the role of supervisor and mentor for social workers who have obtained their limited license and are beginning their social work careers. In addition to earning your Certificate in Core Supervision you will increase your supervision skills and develop your ability to: Understand the theoretical models of supervision Understand the theories of power, influence & authority Use ethical decision-making models Identify the learning needs for supervisees Establish learning objectives for supervisees Utilize evidence-based techniques that include:
o Improving communication skills o Building your relationship skills o Develop your interactional skills Qualifications: You must be a fully licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) You must have a minimum of 3 years of practice experience You do not have any administrative or ethical sanctions on your license You must be available to provide at least 4 hours of supervision each month
What is Included: 5 separate learning modules to be completed independently prior to the live May 7th session (All learning modules will be emailed to attendees on April 22, 2022) 1 live (virtual) Q & A session on May 7, 2022 from 9am-1pm [4 hours] 10 total CE hours, including 5 CE hours in Social Work Ethics (4 live virtual, 6 pre-recorded/alternative learning) Supervision Certification by NASW-Michigan Complimentary listing for one year on the NASW-Michigan Supervision Referral listing at https://www.nasw-michigan.org/page/SupervisionRegistry.
