The third event in NASW-Michigan’s museum learning series will take place at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, whose mission to open minds and change lives through the exploration and celebration of African American history and culture. This event will consist of a guided tour of the museum's artifacts and archival materials, including the Blanche Coggin Underground Railroad collection, Harriet Tubman Museum Collection, and many other exhibits about African American history and the history of Detroit. Gain 2 CE credits while learning about African American history and culture during Black History Month!
Learning Objectives:
- Explore the history of African American culture in the United States
- Understand the influences of African American history on American culture and art
- Learn about the accomplishments of African Americans in Science and Technology
2 CEs will be available for licensed social workers. $15 for students, $20 for NASW members, $30 for non-members.Registration cost includes admission into the museum. The event will run from 2-4pm.
