Join us for the NASW-Michigan Chapter’s Human-Animal Bond Workgroup—a collaborative space for social workers who recognize the profound connection between humans and animals. This quarterly group is open to professionals and students alike who are interested in exploring how animals impact human health, healing, and quality of life.

Together, we’ll dive into topics such as veterinary social work, animal-assisted therapy and interventions, grief and loss related to companion animals, and the ethical and systemic considerations involved in supporting clients through the human-animal bond. The committee aims to develop resources and practice guidelines, discuss policy initiatives, and be a guide for the chapter on future initiatives. Please bring your ideas, conversations from the field, and resources and best practices to share.

Meetings are held on 2nd Tuesdays in February, May, August, and November.
