<description><![CDATA[<h1 style="line-height: 40.8px; text-align: center;">Social Work Working Conditions and Workforce Committee</h1><h3 style="line-height: 31.2px; text-align: center;">Virtual | 4th Thursdays each Month | 12:00-1:00pm ET</h3><hr /><p style="line-height: 24px;">To educate, empower, and support social workers to improve their working conditions. To gather data and worker experiences pertaining to our working conditions and share that information with social workers, law makers, and the general public. This committee recognizes that many social workers look to the NASW for signals about what forms of advocacy are okay to participate in and this committee serves as a strong signal that we support social workers organizing their workplaces. <description><![CDATA[<p><strong><span style="color: #006663;"><br class="Apple-interchange-newline" />Mind-Body in Social Work Interest Group - Recentering and Recharing with Reiki</span></strong></p><p><span style="font-family: Arial;">An introduction to Reiki, an eastern wellness practice, focusing on self-directed application for burnout prevention, tending to stress and self-regulation.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br />Objectives:&nbsp;&nbsp;<br />After participating in this training experience, participants should be able to highlight the roots and origin of Reiki.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br />After participating in this training experience, participants should be able to describe the effects Reiki has on the nervous system.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br />After participating in this training experience, participants should be able to identify 3 ways Reiki is being implemented in mind-body practice.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br />Optional: During the last portion of training experience, those who desire to receive Level 1 Reiki Attunement for self-application, will have the opportunity to participate in Reiki Attunement which focuses on Reiki as a self-directed method.&nbsp; &nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Arial;">&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Arial;">&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Arial;">This group currently plans to meet quarterly (September, December March, and June) with a daytime and evening option each month: 2nd Monday @ noon ET or 2nd Thursday 7pm ET (9am AUST). To gather data and worker experiences pertaining to our working conditions and share that information with social workers, law makers, and the general public. This committee recognizes that many social workers look to the NASW for signals about what forms of advocacy are okay to participate in and this committee serves as a strong signal that we support social workers organizing their workplaces. Participants are invited to engage in ways that feel supportive and comfortable to them.
