In the United States, senior citizens are at a particularly high risk for isolation and loneliness, which results in decreased physical and mental health. However, interacting with animals has shown to greatly improve the health of aging adults, and counteract some of these barriers. Join the HAB group while we explore the research on the benefits of the human-animal bond for senior citizens.

Learning Objectives:

1.
Gain an understanding of the health risks of isolation in aging adults.
2.  Explore the health benefits of interacting with animals.
3.  Identify specific health benefits of the human-animal bond for aging adults.
