This day long institute will cover an overview for navigating the social work ethics maze, informed consent; social work and technology highlighting the new changes to the Code in this area, an introduction to macro ethics, self-care,  and licensing issues related to ethics.

About the Presenters:

Ellen Craine, JD, LMSW, ACSW
Ellen is in private practice as a social work ethics consultant. In addition, she is a social work therapist. Ellen teaches social work continuing education classes for Eastern Michigan University and Michigan State University on a variety of topics, including social work ethics. 

 

Amalia Briggs, LMSW

Amalia is a mental health clinician and yoga teacher. She is the founder of Great Lakes Mindfulness, which offers therapy, mindfulness education, and professional development, including training for social workers on stress management. Amalia spent years working at a nonprofit organization as a clinician and clinical supervisor, and co-founded a parenting class.
