Wondering how you can impact some of the issues you’ve been hearing about in the news? Wondering how social workers can participate in shaping public policy? NASW-MI Region 11, in partnership with the Information Center and Wayne State University, are hosting a Social Work and Public Policy Town Hall. NASW-Michigan’s Policy Director and Vice President of Social Policy will provide an overview of the legislative activities of NASW-Michigan, social work's role and ethical mandate in public policy, and how social workers can get involved in policy issues.

 

Learning Objectives:
- Identify ethical foundation (principles and standards) of social workers' engaging in the public policy development process.
- Provide an overview and understanding of the many areas where public policy affects our lives and those of our clients.
- Provide an understanding of the compelling reasons for being involved in the public policy development process, and the many opportunities to get involved.
- Identify multiple ways social workers can impact public policy.

 

Parking: Parking Structure 6 or metered parking is
available in front and around State Hall.

 

1.5 CEs are available.
