The third event in NASW-Michigan’s museum learning series will take place at the Arab American National Museum, the first and only museum in the United States devoted to Arab American history and culture. Arab Americans have enriched the economic, political and cultural landscape of American life. By bringing the voices and faces of Arab Americans to mainstream audiences, the Arab American National Museums continues to demonstrate their commitment to dispelling misconceptions about Arab Americans and other minorities. Since opening in 2005, the Museum has shed light on the shared experiences of immigrants and ethnic groups, paying tribute to the diversity of our nation. Gain 2.5 CE credits while learning about Arab American history during Arab American Heritage Month!

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore the history of Arab American people in the United States
  • Understand the influences of Arab American history on American culture and art
  • Learn about the accomplishments of Arab Americans in American history

2.5 CEs will be available for licensed social workers. $20 for student NASW members, $25 for NASW members, $30 for non-members. Registration cost includes admission into the museum.
