Region 2 Event (1 pain CE/1 General CE):

August 29th 2018 from 6pm to 8pm  Traverse City

Opiate Crisis: How Did This Happen? Followed By Region 2 Community Conversation

Michigan’s total overdose deaths rose more than 50 percent between 2013 and 2016, from 1,535 to 2,336. That’s more than twice the number of traffic fatalities that year, and five times the fatal overdoses in 1999 (Bridge, 2018). We cannot begin to address this issue without knowing how it started. Only then, can we work collaboratively in our communities to change policies to help address this issue. Join Allan Wachendorfer, NASW-Michigan’s Policy Director, for an informative lecture on the policies that led to this crisis and what is currently being done to address it. Following this conversation, he will talk with attendees about other issues NASW is working on and learn from you about what issues are most important to you for NASW to address in Lansing and Washington.

This event qualifies for 2 social work CEs total. 1 in PAIN and 1 GENERAL. This event is also eligible for 1 MCBAP SPECIFIC hour and 1 MCBAP RELATED hour.

If you are seeking CEs, NASW members are free and future members are $20.
