The purpose of this workshop is to provide education regarding the children and families in the child welfare system, as well as the policy and procedures associated with permanency, licensure, and adoption in the state of Michigan.

 

Learning Objectives:

1. Understanding the policy and procedures of the child welfare system

2. Understanding the qualifications and training needed to become a foster/adoptive parent

3. Understand the needs and characteristics of families impacted by the child welfare system

 

Presenters:

Stephanie Sears, LLMSW, has 10 years of child welfare experience in foster care, licensing, adoption, and independent living, as well as one year of experience in school social work.

 

Elisabeth Wriston, LMSW, has seven years of Child Welfare experience in foster care, independent living, residential, and child advocacy.
