You are invited to a dinner meeting at the Aut Bar (315 Braun Ct, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104), at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Maxine Thome, our NASW-Michigan Executive Director, and the Regions 10 and 11 board representatives, Stephen Rassi and Deirdre Laney-King will be meeting with TBLGQ and allied social workers and social work students. The attendees will have time to ask questions and to engage in an open discussion with Dr. Thome, Stephen, and Deirdre.

Seating will be limited to 36 people, so if you are interested in attending this dinner meeting, please reserve your seat as soon as possible. RSVP to Sarah Eicher at

Max, Stephen, and Deirdre are attending this meeting to discuss concerns, ideas and suggestions related to the following:

  • How can NASW-Michigan do a better job of supporting TLGBTQ and allied social workers and their work with clients in the field?
  • Max Thome wants to know: “Imagine if NASW-Michigan were to become the ideal organization in terms of support for TBLGQ and allied social workers.  What would we be doing?  How would we be supportive?”

The space at the Aut Bar is being reserved for this event. It is a small venue, so we ask that all attendees please purchase food and/or drinks to help support the cost of this important community space.

Please reserve your seat no later than Friday, March 16 if you are interested in attending this event. If you are unable to attend, but would like your questions or concerns conveyed to NASW-Michigan, please e-mail Sarah Eicher at

The plan is to fill the entire 36 slots, and to take names for a waiting list in case of cancellations.  If you must cancel, please notify Sarah ( as soon as possible, so that this opportunity is available to others.

NASW hopes to see many of you there, as you share your concerns with your NASW-Michigan Executive Director and representatives.
