  • Legislative, Education & Advocacy Day (LEAD) - Join together with hundreds of social justice advocates from around Michigan for the largest annual gathering of social workers in the state! This all day event features an advocacy oriented keynote address, networking opportunities, social justice forums, and over twenty workshops on legislative issues, political action, and advocacy efforts.
  • Meeting of the Profession Conference(s)
  • Museum Educational Series - The museum educational series will consist of weekend guided tours through several of Michigan’s top museums with specialized speakers. Social workers will be able to learn 2-3 CE credits per event. Discounts for NASW members.
  • Certificate Programs -
  • Certificate in Core Supervision (12 CEs) - With over 6,500 students currently enrolled in Michigan Schools of Social Work, the demand for social work supervision has increased tremendously. In order to meet this demand NASW-Michigan has developed a comprehensive, ethically based training that will prepare you to step into the role of supervision.
  • Clinical Concerns & Gender Identity: A Training for Mental Health Professionals (12 CEs) - This certificate program will educate mental health professionals on the social determinants of health of the transgender community and how to provide ethical, culturally competent, and medically accurate clinical services.

 

Live Webinars

  • Lunch & Learn Webinars (NASW Members Only) - NASW-Michigan is excited to offer members FREE, one-hour, online social work continuing education (CEs) workshops. These webinars will take place on the second Tuesday of each month from 12:00 PM – 1:00pm.
  • Specialty Practice Sections (NASW Members Only) - The NASW Specialty Practice Sections provide social workers with the latest trends, treatment strategies, policies, and information on social work issues. We give you the edge you need to stay abreast of what's happening in the profession and to be most effective in doing your job. Choose from one (or more) of the eleven Specialty Practice Sections, and let the power of your NASW membership work for you.

  • NASW National Professional Development & Training Center - Use this online tool to explore education and training beyond degree status. Continuing education and ongoing professional development are essential activities for ensuring quality delivery of social work services.

 

Other Alternative Learning Opportunities

  • Virtual Book Club - NASW-Michigan is excited to announce the formation of a Chapter Virtual Book Club, which will allow social workers to earn up to 18 CEs per year from the comfort of your own home. The book club will connect virtually through a LinkedIn group to discuss relevant books for social workers.
