2017 NASW Virtual Career Fair (Open to ALL Students)

The NASW Virtual Career Fair will connect you directly with top employers with open social work career opportunities from the comfort of your home, office, smartphone or tablet. As an attendee, you have the ability to explore employer information and opportunities. Choose which employers you want to network and interview with and then engage in one-on-one text-based conversations or Skype video chats directly with a recruiter at those organizations. You can share your background, experience, resume and ask questions. Maximize your time in the event by getting in line to chat with representatives from more than one company at a time.

(WEBINAR) How to Obtain Your Social Work License in Michigan (Open to ALL Students)

NASW-Michigan Director of Member Services Duane Breijak, LMSW will walk you through some of the immediate obstacles you may face when entering the profession. This workshop will provide an overview of the licensure process in Michigan, supervision requirements, the ASWB exam, as well as give new professional tools for salary negotiation and career advancement.

SPEAKUP! Engaging Students and New Professionals in Political Advocacy

The National Association of Social Workers—Michigan Chapter is launching an action network for students and new professionals! SPEAKUP!, formerly known as the Student Action Network, is looking for passionate and motivated individuals to engage in political advocacy efforts in Michigan (and beyond!). The steering team of SPEAKUP! have been working hard to get everything up and running! We are currently gathering opportunities, resources, and information for you all, and we are also planning a few exciting events for 2017.
