All meetings are held at the NASW-Michigan Chapter office in Lansing (741 N. Cedar Street) but participants are able to join via conference call.

Focus and take action as needed on policies, issues and legislation that address, impact, or support people suffering from addiction, people in recovery and the social workers who work with them and to provide networking and exchanging of ideas with social workers serving individuals, families, and communities affected by addiction.
To achieve this mission, the committee will:
- Be alert to issues and changes in both legislation and practices concerning people with addiction and people in recovery;
- Be proactive in identifying and addressing the needs of people with addiction;
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the state to improve access and services for people with addiction; and
- Facilitate communication among social workers whose work affects people with addiction.
